NFL fans were making the same hysterical joke after Amazon Prime Video aired a preview of Jayden Daniels’ interview with reporter Taylor Rooks.

Jayden Daniels’ mother, Regina Jackson, has a reputation for being “overprotective” of her 24-year-old son. Back in May, Jackson admitted that she’s watching out for Daniels to ensure women don’t use him for his money and fame.

Thus, fans continuously joke about Daniels being a “mama’s boy”. Unfortunately for the Washington Commanders’ star quarterback, it doesn’t look like he’ll escape those roasts any time soon.

With the 2025 regular season now just a week away, the @NFLonPrime X/Twitter account posted a preview of Daniels’ interview with Rooks. The full segment will air on Sept. 11, when the Commanders visit the Green Bay Packers on Amazon’s first “Thursday Night Football” broadcast of 2025.

Sure enough, the jokes about Daniels and Jackson returned:

“I didn’t recognize him at first without his mom clinging to him lol,” a user wrote.

“You know she was a right there off camera lol she had to sign the permission slip,” said another.

“His mom was behind him don’t worry 🥰🥰,” joked a fan.

“Nuh uh! Where mom‘s at?” said another.

“I’m surprised his mother wasn’t there to stop him from interviewing with a pretty woman or sitting right next to him to intervene,” a user commented.

“Where’s his momma at,” quipped a fan.

Don’t worry, Jayden Daniels. We’re sure the jokes will end one day.

Jayden Daniels Looks To Build Off Historic Rookie Season

The Commanders entered 2024 with minimal expectations. Daniels was a rookie quarterback, and they were starting afresh with a new head coach (Dan Quinn) and GM (Adam Peters).

But the No. 2 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft produced early and often for Washington, finishing his rookie year with 25 passing touchdowns, nine interceptions, 891 rushing yards and six rushing scores. He helped Washington to 12 wins, their first playoff win in 19 years and their first trip to the NFC Championship Game since 1991.

Washington’s championship dreams ended with a blowout loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, but it was nonetheless a massive step forward for a franchise that sunk to rock bottom under former owner Dan Snyder.

Now, we see what Jayden Daniels can do for an encore after arguably the best rookie quarterback seson in NFL history.
