Nick Bosa has played his last game in 2025.

The early exit of the defensive end overshadowed the San Francisco 49ers’ win on Sunday.

His injury immediately raised concern across the locker room, with teammates and coaches acknowledging the impact of potentially losing one of the NFL’s top pass rushers.

Their concerns were correct.

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly set to be without star defensive end Nick Bosa for the rest of the season.

Bosa is believed to have suffered a torn ACL in the Week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals, which ends his year.

“Tests today showed that 49ers Pro Bowl DE Nick Bosa suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Sunday’s win over Arizona, sources tell ESPN. It’s a clean tear, but Bosa now will need season-ending surgery,” Adam Schefter reported.

This is the second time Nick Bosa has torn his ACL in his NFL career. He first tore it in Week 2 of 2020 vs. the Jets.

The San Francisco 49ers edged out the Arizona Cardinals 16-15 in Week 3 on September 21 at Levi’s Stadium, but the victory came at a cost as Nick Bosa ultimately suffered a torn ACL.

Bosa’s setback adds to a growing list of 49ers players sidelined by injuries just three weeks into the 2025 season.

Not many players can return to form when they tear an ACL. Bosa has now done it twice in five years.

Along with bringing pressure to the quarterback, Bosa also brings leadership to the 49ers squad. He helps elevate the talent around him on defense, which would be missed if he’s gone.

Now, the 49ers and their undefeated record might take quite a hit with his departure.
