Less than 20 months later, Travis Kelce repeated his unhinged error on Sunday Night Football.

The Chiefs (1-2) finally won a game with an ugly 22-9 road victory against the New York Giants, who need to get it over with and promote rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

But Kelce ended up 0-2 vs Reid, who’s the architect of what remains of the Chiefs’ dynasty, and has every right to bench — or suspend — his starting tight end for Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens.

“Big Red has had enough and I love it,” tweeted a fan, after a video of Kelce and Reid bumping into and screaming at each other on the Chiefs’ sideline immediately went viral.

“Kelce is such a baby,” a second fan posted.

“Dude starting to think he’s bigger than the team cause of who he’s engaged to,” a third fan wrote.

“Travis Kelce Swift doesn’t care,” a fourth fan said. “He is going to be a billionaire after the marriage.”

That last part isn’t a done deal, yet.

There’s also no guarantee that the Chiefs will make the playoffs if they keep unraveling in public.

The Los Angeles Chargers are currently the best team in the AFC West, while Justin Herbert is the top quarterback in the division.

The Chiefs hold the same record as the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders, and only one of those three can’t control the emotions of a 35-year-old tight end who’s been in decline for years.

Reid described Kelce as “passionate” after the Chiefs turned a 9-6 halftime lead before a crowd of 80,690 at MetLife Stadium into the team’s first win of 2025.

“I’ve been through a lot of things with him, that’s all part of it,” Reid said. “I love that he loves to play the game.”

But Patrick Mahomes doesn’t aggressively get in Reid’s face and scream at the 67-year-old future Hall of Famer.

NFL fans across the globe also never see Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson or Jared Goff going as berserko as Kelce randomly does.

Not even Swift’s fiancé is bigger than Chiefs

From Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt to Rashee Rice, the Chiefs have balanced controversy with shining Super Bowl trophies since Mahomes was drafted in 2017.

Winning normally conquers all in a league that collects $23 billion in annual revenue, and Kelce’s sideline meltdown vs Reid in Super Bowl LVIII was overshadowed by another shining trophy.

On Sunday, Reid allowed a message to be sent that Kelce was bigger than his team, as the coach tolerated another child-like outburst.

The 13-year veteran posted a career low in receiving yards (823) and yards per catch (8.5) last year, and his 2025 season has started with a frustrating injury to Xavier Worthy and a dropped pass from Mahomes that led to a game-sealing interception in Week 2.

Catching four passes for 26 yards against the Giants shouldn’t give Swift’s fiancé extra privileges in the NFL.
