Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore was hospitalized immediately after Monday night’s win against the Washington Commanders.

Moore helped the Bears to a dramatic 25-24 victory on the night, with the NFC North side sealing the deal through a last-second Jake Moody field goal. Chicago managed to edge the home team for the marginal triumph despite appearing to have a touchdown taken away unfairly.

ESPN announcer Troy Aikman would explain how the referee’s call was sketchy and wiped out a legitimate score, but he was also thought to be unnecessarily negative in his assessment of the overall performance.

The wideout registered three catches for 42 yards in the game, adding another 10 yards on the ground off two carries.

He also made a crucial block downfield on the drive that set up Moody’s FG late in the game.

While it wasn’t a particularly high-scoring contest, there were several notable moments, even off the field, with Commanders fans caught on camera fighting each other at one point.

Moore appeared to be in some discomfort after taking a hit in the first half, but completed a full outing and made meaningful contributions to the offense.

It was later announced that he was taken to the hospital via ambulance and expected to remain overnight.

“DJ Moore was taken from Northwest Stadium in an ambulance postgame to a local area hospital for precautionary medical evaluation. He will remain in the area overnight, per the team,” ESPN reporter Courtney Cronin revealed after midnight.

According to other reports, the wideout was in the locker room with his teammates before he was taken to the hospital. The Bears did not disclose the nature of his injury, but head coach Ben Johnson is expected to address it this afternoon.

DJ Moore is in his third season with Chicago following a trade from the Carolina Panthers in 2023. A former first-round pick, he has registered four seasons with at least 1,100 receiving yards.

He had a career-best 1,364 yards in his first season with the Bears.

The WR has 19 receptions for 215 yards and one touchdown through five games this season.
