BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys Lose Key Offensive Star For 6-8 Weeks After Suffering Devastating Injury During Win vs. Giants - NewsBreak

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to be without a key offensive player following their win over the New York Giants on Sunday.

According to Ian Rapoport, Cooper Beebe could be out 6-8 weeks after exiting the game with a swollen right ankle in the fourth quarter and remaining out during overtime. He has since been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain and is likely set for the injured reserve.

“Cowboys center Cooper Beebe, a key part of their stellar O-line, is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a high-ankle sprain, sources say,” Rapoport reported on Monday.

The center got injured on a crucial drive for Dallas, with his absence making things complicated as backup lineman Brock Hoffman struggled on snaps and nearly cost the Cowboys possession with a fumble.

Beebe, a third-round pick out of Kansas State in 2024, has earned plaudits for his versatility. While he never played center in college, he won the starting job at the position in training camp and quickly became a fan favorite.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer did not go into details regarding the injury, but the player’s ankle was said to have swollen to the size of a head, based on locker room accounts. He was also seen using crutches after the game.

The Cowboys, who announced the signing of three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney after their win over the Giants, will rely on Hoffman moving forward. They also have the option of bringing someone else in from the practice squad while Beebe recovers from his ankle injury.

They managed to pull out a win at the end of a thrilling shootout, despite losing their starting center, with kicker Brandon Aubrey stepping up to score a 64-yard field goal to send the game to overtime before sealing the deal with another kick from 46 yards out.

Dallas now faces a crucial stretch without one of their best linemen, having already seen their defense downgraded after trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

Still, they are 1-1, having narrowly escaped going down 0-2 following their opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a game filled with ugly scenes.
