CALEB WILLIAMS hasn’t held back after being benched by the Chicago Bears.

The quarterback and new head coach Ben Johnson have had a disappointing start together.

They are 0-2 on a 2025 season that promised so much more for their fresh regime.

The Bears were smashed 52-21 by the Detroit Lions last Sunday.

And during the hammering, Johnson pulled Williams from the game.

There was still eight minutes left on the clock at the time.

Backup Tyson Bagent was sent in to replace their starting QB.

Williams was clearly disappointed to be benched so early on.

“It sucks that your guys are out on the field, and you’re not,” Williams said.

“And that’s frustrating because you put (in) so much time, energy and effort, and those guys are out there still battling, and you’re on the sideline.

“But it was coach’s decision, and you gotta move on from it.

“In that situation, I’m thinking of how can I help this team, this offense?

“Whether it’s me saying something on the field or to whoever.

“Or whatever the case may be, just to get the momentum going, get us going and get this team rolling.”

This is Williams second year in the NFL with the Bears.

And his future is already being called into question just two games into 2025.

Bagent was an undrafted rookie free agent in 2023.

He went 2-2 while starting in his first year as an emergency quarterback.

The Bears signed him up to a two-year, $10 million extension in August.

And he is ready to come in and replace Williams if his relationship with Johnson gets rockier.

Williams has thrown for 417 yards and three touchdowns in the first two games of 2025.

He has also been intercepted once.

However, his sack numbers and decision making is still a clear concern.

The Bears have the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.
