Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. didn’t mince his words following his team’s poor offensive showing in a 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The 2024 first-round pick knows he has to better if this team is going to take that next step offensively.
“Everybody’s got a job to do and I’m not doing it at a high enough level at the moment,” an emotional Harrison told reporters postgame. “I think I know what I’m capable of and to go out there and not play to nowhere near my abilities is frustrating. It hurts the team and I need to get better.”
He’s not wrong.
Through three weeks, Harrison has reeled in 10 catches on 17 targets for 142 yards and one touchdown.
His rocky NFL start saw more production through three games in 2024 (10 catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns) compared to his current Year 2 showing.
But it’s not so much the statistics as it is the drops that have been on tape in recent weeks.
None are as glaring as his wide-open drop in Sunday’s loss to the 49ers.
Nothing but green around and in front of him.
Harrison has had no more than six targets in any of the games played in 2025. When the looks come his way, the No. 4 overall pick must deliver.
And with another divisional matchup against a stout Seattle Seahawks defense anchored by a legit secondary, time is of the essence for the young pass catcher, especially with running back James Conner done for the year.
“Just got to go back, watch the film, learn from it, get better. We play on Thursday, so start preparing Tuesday — we’re off tomorrow — and yeah,” Harrison said.
