THE Cleveland Browns are paying out $40m this season to a staggering EIGHT quarterbacks.

And this week they made the shock decision to trade Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Flacco, 40, was the starter at the beginning of the season having won a four-way battle.

He lost his job to Dillon Gabriel ahead of the Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Flacco’s departure leaves four quarterbacks on the roster.

According to Spotrac figures, the Browns are still paying him $999k this season.

That is only slightly less than third round pick Gabriel – who is owed $1.1 million.

Shedeur Sanders is also due $955,000 in salary in 2025.

The quarterback was taken in the fifth round this year and had been third choice until Flacco left.

His new position on the depth chart remains unclear.

The Browns still have DeShaun Watson on the payroll.

The injured quarterback is due $35.9 million this season but is likely to miss the entire year.

And the other quarterback earning a pay check from the team is Bailey Zappe.

The 26-year-old is currently on the Browns practice squad and will earn $315,000 in 2025.

Between Watson, Gabriel, Sanders and Zappe the team is paying $38,270,000 in quarterback salary.

Only $2 million of that is on the active roster with Sanders and Gabriel.

Cleveland is also still paying Jameis Winston, who now plays for the New York Giants.

Winston is owed $2.2 million in salary from the Browns in 2025.

He played 12 games for the Browns last season before signing a free agency deal with the Giants.

Kenny Pickett was also with the team this off-season and in a battle for the starting quarterback job.

He was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in August.

But Cleveland is still paying him $8,000.

Pickett only joined the Browns this year in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson went the other way as part of the move.

And ‘DTR’ is also owed $171,000 by the Browns in 2025.
