Video footage has surfaced of Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers fans exchanging haymakers in a wild scene during the “Sunday Night Football” showdown at AT&T Stadium.

2025 WNBA Points of Education

Sunday’s showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers had extra hype because of Micah Parsons’ highly anticipated return to Dallas. A month earlier, the Cowboys sent Parsons to the Packers for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

The game itself ended in a 40-40 tie, with kickers Brandon Aubrey and Brandon McManus exchanging field goals in overtime. This marked the first NFL tie since Dec. 4 2022, with the Washington Commanders and New York Giants playing to a 20-20 draw.

Fans at AT&T Stadium were treated to a back-and-forth high-scoring affair, but it wasn’t sunshine and rainbows for everyone in attendance. Cameras caught a handful of Packers and Cowboys fans exchanging punches in a tense scene, before security and other bystanders managed to break it up:

This wasn’t the only disturbing incident involving bad fan conduct in Week 4. Multiple Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers got into a fight at Raymond James Stadium during Philly’s 31-25 road win.

There have been multiple instances of fan fights at NFL games this year. Other NFL teams should follow the Seattle Seahawks’ strategy of having undercover cops wear opposing team jerseys to monitor the fans at Lumen Field.

The Cowboys’ defense wasted a strong outing from Dak Prescott, who had 319 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, per ESPN. But a tie is obviously better than a loss, and the 1-2-1 Cowboys certainly aren’t out of the playoff race.

The NFC is wide open with the 4-0 Philadelphia Eagles, 2-1-1 Packers, 3-1 Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions all showing some warts. The Cowboys narrowly lost to the Eagles and tied the Packers without CeeDee Lamb, so we know they can hang with top NFC clubs.

Prescott and the Cowboys will try and improve to 2-2-1 when they visit the winless New York Jets at MetLife Stadium this Sunday.
