The Dallas Cowboys are in the market for a pass rusher, and they find one with the likes of Jadeveon Clowney being available.

The team previously had a standout pass rusher in Micah Parsons before they traded him last month to the Packers, in a shocking move right before the NFL season opener.

The Cowboys received two first-round draft picks and veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark in the trade. In the aftermath, Parsons signed a record-breaking four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

After one game played and a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the team is searching for some help in the trenches.

According to Josina Anderson, the Dallas Cowboys are welcoming defensive end Jadeveon Clowney in for a visit.

“Breaking: Free agent edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney is in Dallas today to meet with the #Cowboys, per league source,” she wrote on X.

The 32-year-old spent the 2024 season with the Carolina Panthers and recorded 46 combined tackles, 5.5 sacks, 11 QB hits, and nine tackles for loss in 14 games played.

The Dallas Cowboys’ Pass Rush Wasn’t Terrible In Week One

Thursday night was the first game the Dallas Cowboys played since trading star pass rusher Micah Parsons, so all eyes were on what their defensive line could do.

Dallas recorded just one sack on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, which came from second-year defensive end Marshawn Kneeland. That might seem terrible, but stats don’t tell the full story.

The 33rd Team noted that the Cowboys were among the top five in generating pressure on 40%+ of their opponents’ dropbacks in Week 1.

The Cowboys were at 42.4%. Only the Steelers were better.

Kneeland, Dante Fowler, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Osa Odighizuwa, and Solomon Thomas all gave Jalen Hurts quite the workout last Thursday night.

However, Hurts is very mobile, and he racked up a ton of yards on the ground.

If the Dallas Cowboys can continue to pressure the quarterback, they won’t come away looking terrible for not wanting to pay Parsons.
