Polish No.1 Hubert Hurkacz is easily one of the better male players on the Tennis circuit.

Grown Man Is Getting Blasted By Social Media For Stealing Tennis Star's Cap From Heartbroken Kid [VIDEO] - NewsBreak

Unfortunately, fans will not be able to see him in action for next month’s US Open, which will be the second Grand Slam in a row he has missed.

The former world No.6 underwent an arthroscopy on his right knee. The procedure is used to diagnose and treat problems with the joints. In Hurkacz’s case, an ‘overgrown synovial membrane’ was removed to help reduce the pain he felt in the area.

While he is down, a video featuring him is being blasted online.

While signing autographs for fans at the US Open, possibly from last year, Hubert Hurkacz could be seen removing his cap and handing it to a kid with an oversized Wilson tennis ball.

Unfortunately for that kid, a grown man beside him quickly snatched it away from him and openly smiled as he tried to get them autographed.

“Grown ass man stealing from kids, Pathetic idiot,” one irate fan said.

“He’s wearing fake Gucci shorts too😭😭,” a second fan pointed out.

“That man needs to apologize and return that cap to the kid. I can’t believe a grown man would set that example to a child,” a third person said of the guy who stole that Hubert Hurkacz tossed.

“It’s a market, I do agree with you, but they shouldn’t do at the stands on courts. They could cut this behavior out if they did in a controlled environment for the fans to get 1-on-1 time pre-Tournament…,” a fourth person added.

“Let’s get some internet justice here. Who is that grown man who stole the hat from the child?” one final person commented.

This US Open moment comes on the heels of another where female stars Taylor Townsend and Jelena Ostapenko got into a shouting match after their game.

Hubert Hurkacz underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, the 28-year-old shared on social media last month.

The former Wimbledon semifinalist tore his right meniscus during his second-round Wimbledon match against Arthur Fils last year. Injuries have been a huge part of his 2025 season, forcing him to withdraw from the fortnight at SW19 and the US Open.

“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with knee issues, such as pain, fluid build-up, and other problems that made it hard to train and compete,” Hurkacz wrote on Instagram.

“After exploring different options, we decided that having an arthroscopy this past Monday was the best solution.

“During the procedure, the overgrown synovial membrane causing the inflammation, pain and related issues were removed. A huge thank you to Dr. Bartlomiej Kacprzak, who performed the surgery.”

Currently No. 39 in the ATP rankings, Hurkacz is 15-11 this year.

The former world No.6’s best result this season was at the Geneva Open, where he reached the final before losing in three sets to Novak Djokovic, who won his 100th title at the event.
