Caitlin Clark entered the 2025 WNBA season as one of the most-hyped players after a sensational and record-breaking rookie season. The Indiana Fever made some major offseason moves, building around Clark and Aliyah Boston.

Clark kickstarted the season against rival Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky with a phenomenal triple-double, and she continued to put up impressive numbers against the Atlanta Dream in the next two games as well.
Right when it seemed like she was starting to go on a good streak, the Fever guard suffered a heartbreaking quad injury that has kept her on the sidelines for quite some time now.

Caitlin Clark Reveals When She Suffered the Quad Injury
During a press conference at the Fever’s practice facility on Thursday, June 5, Clark offered some insights about when the incident occurred and provided the latest update on her status.
“It happened in the [New York] Liberty game,” Clark said. “Definitely early in the game, but I couldn’t tell you the exact play something occurred on.”
Clark added that it could have also happened later in the game, but she may not have realized it due to the high level of adrenaline that every athlete experiences during a game
“Could’ve occurred over the course of the game, too. Adrenaline covers up a lot of stuff when you’re in the heat of battle, and after the game, I had some pain, then we got an MRI, and it gave me the result I didn’t want to see.”
Against the defending champs, the Liberty, the 23-year-old managed to put up her second double-double of the season, with 18 points and 10 assists in 38 minutes. Her high minutes indicate she might have aggravated the injury and remained out on the floor playing through it for an extended period.
Despite Clark’s impressive performance, the Fever took the loss, their fourth of the season.
Regarding a return from injury, Clark mentioned, “After this weekend, I’ll be re-evaluated and I’ll have a better idea when I’ll return. We’re trying not to put an exact date out there, because it is a day-by-day thing.”
Fever fans have been eagerly waiting for the superstar guard to return, as her absence has stretched to four consecutive games. However, Boston, Natasha Howard, and Kelsey Mitchell have stepped up, as was proven against the Sky.
The Fever secured the fourth win of their season against the Sky. They will face the Dream next on Tuesday, June 10, and it is highly unlikely that Clark makes an appearance on the court. But she has been making headlines for her off-court reactions, and we can be sure that she will be present to support her team again.
