The Indiana Fever announced another unfortunate injury update on superstar Caitlin Clark ahead of Friday night’s game against the Dallas Wings.
Before tip-off, the Fever announced that Caitlin Clark will miss her second straight game with a groin injury. Indiana struggled to generate offense in a frustrating 85-75 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday.
Clark recently missed five games because of a quad injury, and the Fever went 2-3 without her. She returned on June 14 against the New York Liberty, leading Indiana to a 102-88 victory.
Tickets for the Indiana-Chicago Sky game on June 7 at the United Center dropped considerably with Clark sidelined. And during her absence, WNBA ratings dropped by more than 50 percent.
No matter which team you cheer for, there’s no denying that Caitlin Clark’s injury is bad for the WNBA. She single-handedly drives ratings, ticket and merchandise sales leaguewide, and her absence on the court is terrible for the league.
The one silver lining for Clark and the Fever is that they have a break after Friday night’s game in Dallas. They’ll get five days off before returning to the court next Thursday against the Las Vegas Aces.
Indiana will then host the Sparks again two nights later, before getting a four-day break ahead of their July 9 game against the Golden State Valkyries.
Fever Need Other Players To Step Up Without Caitlin Clark

With the 23-year-old Caitlin Clark missing at least one more game, the Fever need their other players to step up. Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell have led the offense without Clark, but the likes of Aari McDonald, Natasha Howard and Lexie Hull will need to step up as well.
