LEBRON James left fans on the edge of their seats after teasing his “Second Decision” on social media.

In a reference to James’ infamous special in 2010 when he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat, LeBron dropped a similar video on Tuesday.

James first teased his “Second Decision” on Monday, leaving many fans speculating that it could be a retirement decision from the NBA legend.

He recently made statements that he wasn’t going to wait for his other son, Bryce, to make it to the league before retiring.

“I’m not waiting on Bryce, I don’t know what his timeline is, he’s his own young man,” James said.

“We’ll see what happens this year, next year, but he has his own timeline, I got my timeline, and I don’t know if they quite match up.”

With those statements out in the open, many thought this could be the time LeBron shares he is retiring.

He is entering his 23rd NBA season, and is past 40 years old.

However, once the decision dropped on Tuesday, it had nothing to do with his career.

In fact, it was just an elaborate promotion for James’ collaboration with Hennessy.

The “Second Decision” was announced to drum up hype for the Hennessy V.S.O.P Limited Edition.

“It’s an honor to continue this partnership with Hennessy,” James said.

“Our first collection was about a shared pursuit of excellence and boundary pushing, and this new limited edition is another chapter in that story.

“The design features my crowning gesture, which is special for me and stands for celebration and connection.

“That’s what this bottle is made for.”

Vincent Montalescot, Chief Marketing Officer of Hennessy, also shared his excitement about the promotion.

“We’re proud to deepen our partnership with LeBron James—a cultural icon whose influence reaches far beyond sport,” he said.

New rights deal

The NBA signed an 11-year deal with three networks for the league’s rights from the 2025-26 season.

And there will be no games on TNT for the first time since the network launched in 1988.

The Walt Disney Company will continue to show the league with 80 regular-season games across ESPN and ABC.

They will also show around 18 playoff games from the first and second round, a Conference Finals series for 10 of the 11 years, and remain the home of the NBA Finals.

NBC will return as an NBA broadcaster for the first time since 2002.

The network will show up to 100 games per season across it’s channels and Peacock streaming service.

It will also be the home of NBA All-Star and show approximately 28 playoff games from the first and second round.

NBC will show one Conference Finals Series for six of the 11 years, rotating with new broadcaster Amazon Prime.

Amazon will show 66 NBA regular-season games including one on Black Friday.

The streaming service is also the home of the latter stages of the NBA Cup and the entire Play-In Tournament.

Prime will also broadcast around one third of the playoff games in the first and second round.

“LeBron embodies a spirit of collective play and social generosity—values that resonate deeply with our own.

“This is a tribute to LeBron’s extraordinary journey and to a defining moment in the history of sport; it is a privilege to partner with him in a way that is both genuine and celebratory.”

With the “Second Decision” being a simple advertisement, it seems fans are going to have to continue to wait to hear about James’ retirement.
