She sported a long-sleeve button-up gold dress for her first NHL appearance.

The Canadian data scientist hosted the broadcast as the Sabres suffered a 3-1 loss against the Avalanche.

This has captivated fans on social media.

“Stunning!! You will be amazing!!” one fan shared on X.

“Love the dress,” another commented on Instagram.

“Jaws-dropped,” a third fan added online.

The data scientist responded in the comments to share that her dress is from Self-Portrait.

Her Gold Lurex Knit Mini Dress is available online for $610.

Chayka appeared on-screen as the Sabres suffered their third straight loss this season.

This comes after the the retirement of former Sabres defenseman Erik Johnson, 37.

They opened the 2025/26 campaign with a 4-0 defeat against the New York Rangers last Thursday.

This was followed by a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday.

Their poor season start follows a dismal 2024/25 campaign.

The Sabres finished seventh in the Atlantic Division with just 36 wins from 82 games.

These struggles have prompted fans to suggest that Chayka could switch professions to lead the Sabres.

“Can you coach? Please help this team!” a fourth fan joked.

This would not be entirely alien territory for the newest NHL broadcaster as she first broke through as an ice hockey analyst.

Chayka is the co-founder and CEO of ice hockey analytics firm Stathletes.

The Vancouver Canucks became the first NHL team to work with Stathletes in 2012.

She is also the older sister of former Arizona Coyotes general manager John Chayka, 36.
