Albert Breer on why Chiefs Are PRIMED For a DEEP RUN
The rookie was absent from Wednesday’s practice after unexpectedly missing Week 6.
In his opening remarks to reporters during Wednesday’s media availability, Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid would not state too much about Simmons or the situation.
“As far as the Josh Simmons situation goes, I’m not going to comment on it today, “said Reid.
“[General Manager Brett] Veach is handling everything there — and we’ll leave it at that. “
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes later added that he was “praying” for Simmons, but he declined to provide any details about the private situation.
So, why is everyone around the Chiefs so quiet about what is happening with Josh Simmons?

ESPN Kansas City beat reporter Nate Taylor is speaking out about Josh Simmons, describing his absence from Sunday’s game as “extremely unusual.”
Simmons, selected No. 32 overall in April, was added to the injury report Sunday and listed as questionable due to a personal reason.
Taylor said during an episode of the “Only Weird Games” podcast on Tuesday that it is now being reported that Simmons was in California.
When further questioned about whether he left due to a family emergency, Taylor said, “It appears it could be family-related, but I don’t know that definitively.”
“He left at a time on Sunday that is extremely unusual,” Taylor said of Simmons, “and I’m not sure when he’s coming back. I don’t know if the team — as of right now, the team doesn’t know when he’s coming back. No one associated with the Kansas City Chiefs has said to me, ‘Oh, he’ll be back Thursday or he’ll be back Friday or we anticipate him to be back at a certain point in time.’”
With Josh Simmons out of the lineup, backup Jaylon Moore served as the Chiefs’ starting left tackle during Week 6. It appears that he could be in line to continue serving in that role should Simmons miss more time.
He did quite well as Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 22 of 30 passes for 257 yards and four total touchdowns, and he rushed 10 times for 32 yards. It was a game that saw him give an evil eye to Dan Campbell following the contest.
