While the NBA players are enjoying their free time in the offseason, Marcus Morris Sr. has faced several off-court challenges. On July 27, 2025, the Florida cops arrested Morris for a fraud charge for writing checks with insufficient funds in Broward County, Florida.

Morris was accused of issuing $265,000 worth of fraud-insufficient fund checks. The news stunned many and sparked intense discussions about the incident. Recently, TMZ Sports revealed new bodycam footage from the arrest, showing police escorting Marcus Morris out of the airport in shackles.
In the footage, the cops reached Morris and his family at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. After taking Morris out of the area, they broke out the chains and explained that they were arresting him. TMZ Sports revealed that the Cops cuffed his wrist and restrained his ankles as well. Later, they contacted Morris’ brother, Markieff, and explained what had happened.
After spending two days in jail, the court dismissed all the fraud and theft charges against Morris as he paid the $265,000 in gambling debts he owed to Wynn Las Vegas and MGM Grand Hotels and Casinos.

The debate over who is the greatest of all time in the NBA, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers or Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls legend, has been ongoing for a long time. Many current and former players and analysts have shared their opinions on who should be the ultimate NBA GOAT between these two superstars. Recently, Morris also gave his opinion.
“I say LeBron because just the longevity of the game and being able to play at that level for that long of a time. And I like Mike, and Mike was my favorite player, but I’m just saying if you asking me for longevity purposes. Everybody don’t got killer like Mike and Kobe [Bryant], so I ain’t going to say they do, but to be able to last that long and play at that high level, I’mma rock like that,” Marcus Morris said in the recent episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game.
Morris last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2023-24 season. He played 12 games and averaged 5.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
