Los Angeles Rams star running back Kyren Williams cost his team a valuable victory, and in doing so, he also pissed off thousands of gamblers with his late-game fumble against the 49ers.

Los Angeles was trailing 23-20 with 1:07 left and had a first-and-goal at the 3-yard line. Williams got the ball and tried to punch it into the end zone. He failed. Not only did he not get there, but the ball got punched out, and the 49ers recovered the fumble.
The giveaway cost the Rams the lead and the opportunity to win the contest in regulation, which changed the entire trajectory of the game.
Some gambling fans online think something else was at play. One fan thinks it was a fake fumble, which allowed Las Vegas to ultimately come out with a massive victory when it came to the over/under on the game.
X user @BeholdPaleH0rse posted footage from the game while accusing the running back of having a fake fumble, saying, “Kyren Williams with the age-old FAKE FUMBLE🚨 going over the goal line in Rams 49ers Thursday night football! The total magically stays under! What a satanic sport.”
“Pretty hard to ignore him being flat out punched in the head right before he fumbled. I believe the NFL is rigged too, I’m just saying that wasn’t just another Kyren fumble, Alfred Collins got away with a huge penalty here and hit the ball after the head punch causing the fumble,” one fan said.
“This fumble sponsored by DraftKings,” a second fan added.
“Yep, got cracked. Hit all the baseball games to take the Rams -2.5 missed FG missed Pat. Don’t go for two to extend the lead to 23-20. Fumble on the 1-yard line. So crack the spreads. You can’t make this shit up. I had 2K ripped from me watching that ending in disgust,” a third fan wrote.
Gamblers have seen this type of moment play out before. Last year, the Dolphins were taking on the Bills when gamblers became enraged over Tua Tagovailoa screwing up his passing yards after clearing the prop bet.

The San Francisco 49ers have been forced to play a few games without starting quarterback Brock Purdy, and that hasn’t necessarily been a bad thing.
On Thursday, they got worse news when NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said that Purdy was “not close” to playing.
Luckily for them, they have Mac Jones.
Jones was superb in a 26-23 overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams, completing 33-of-49 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns. He was so poised during this game that cameras caught him eating a snack on the sidelines moments after limping off the field.
San Francisco entered Week 5 without its starting quarterback, three best wide receivers, and top tight end. However, it controlled a huge portion of the game and ultimately won it in overtime.
