In the fourth quarter of the Monday Night Football game, Bears QB Caleb Williams essentially threw a hospital ball to Moore as he caught it, but took a big hit from a Vikings defender and stayed on the ground.

Moore was hit from the front and back as soon as he touched the ball. The pain was evident as cameras zoomed in on him writhing as he waited for medical personnel to tend to him.

After the injury, Moore was taken to the sidelines and was treated. He would soon be spotted walking to the sidelines on his own. Fortunately, he would return to the contest. Unfortunately, DJ Moore seemed to be struggling after that massive hit.

Following the loss, a picture from the stands shows the Bears wideout seemingly collapsing on the ground once again as players from both teams greeted each other before heading off to the locker room.

Four personnel were seen standing around Moore to tend to him.

What Happens With DJ Moore Going Forward?

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore hauled in three of his five targets for 68 yards in the Bears’ season-opening loss to the Vikings, however, he also took a big hit that could affect him for weeks to come.

Missing any player sucks for any team. The Bears know this all too well, as they lost rookie cornerback Zah Frazier for the entire 2025 season last month.

A potential injury to DJ Moore is not good news for the Chicago Bears as they play the Detroit Lions next week.

Both teams are coming off a Week 1 loss and are desperate not to start the year with a 0-2 record. Not many teams have been able to come back from such a start in NFL history.

Moore may not be the clear top target in Ben Johnson’s new system, but he should remain involved enough to keep defenses honest against Caleb Williams.
