After her engagement to Travis Kelce, it felt inevitable that Swift would end up doing the halftime show.

However, Bad Bunny was later revealed as the performer.

Swift made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to clear the air as to why she wouldn’t be doing the show.

The primary reason for her absence at the Super Bowl is her relationship with Kelce.

“Jay-Z has always been very good to me. Our [business] teams are really close,” Swift said.

“They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [the Super Bowl].

“And that’s not, like, an official offer or a conference-room conversation.

“And we’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.

“Like, [football] is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous.

“The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field.

“Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week putting his life on the line doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be? I think we should do two verses of Shake It Up into Blank Space into Cruel Summer would be great.

“This is has nothing to do with Travis, he would love for me to do it. I am just too locked in.”

Based on her comments about Jay-Z, the owner of the company that plans the halftime show, RocNation, there might have been at least a conversation about Swift doing the show.

Even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell hinted at a Super Bowl involving her.

However, that might wait until after Kelce is retired from the NFL.

He is in his last season with the Kansas City Chiefs, searching for one more Super Bowl win in his career.

However, at 2-3 on the season it is looking like it will be a tough climb for him to get there.

Even if Kelce does get to the Super Bowl, he won’t watch his fiancé play the halftime show.
