Former NHL enforcer Nick Tarnasky has finally opened up on his epic fight at the Alberta Springs Golf Resort.

Tarnasky has given new meaning to the word “Bang” while avoiding charges, having been filmed tossing a golfer into a lake and calling out his punches while pummelling the poor guy.

He gave his side of the story on the ‘Spittin Chiclets’ podcast this week, revealing he had to speak with the other guy, whose two-man party was taking 20-25 minutes per hole and refusing to let others play through.

He approached them on the 15th hole to ask them to speed things up, but was instead attacked.

“He was fist-clenching, pumping his arms. I gave him every opportunity not to get involved,” he said. “But he charged at me. I’m not going to fold over. That’s not my nature.”

As you must have seen, Nick promptly shoved the man, who has since identified himself as Trevor Ogilvie, into the pond. But he came back for more.

Fortunately for him, Tarnasky was still in a “fun” mood.

“I was just trying to have fun with it,” Tarnasky claimed. “I’m fighting on a golf course — I don’t even know what’s going on here.”

Nick Tarnasky And Trevor Ogilvie Both Regret the Incident

As for Ogilvie, he was apologetic after the viral moment, making his own video in which he claimed he had “Played 36 holes,” “drank way too much,” and his “mouth ran faster than my brain.”

Nick Tarnasky admitted he regretted that the whole thing had ever happened, but said he would not change his reaction.

“I respect the course and the people there. But when you challenge that many people, eventually someone’s going to say, ‘Okay, let’s go.’”

Meanwhile, local police have closed their investigations, with no charges being filed, but the former player’s youth hockey team is looking into the matter.
