Social media had a lot to say over a viral photo of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones losing his pants during “Thursday Night Football” against the Los Angeles Rams.

With Brock Purdy missing his third game in four weeks because of turf toe, Mac Jones got his third start of the season against the NFC West rivals. Jones turned in one of the best performances of his career, completing 33 of 49 pass attempts for 342 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 26-23 overtime victory.

Jones was only sacked once in the contest, but the former New England Patriots QB took a beating against the Rams’ vaunted pass rush. He was shaken up in the third quarter after taking a hit from Byron Young that should have drawn a flag, but Jones returned to the game after taking some Sour Patch Kids candy on the sidelines.

To get an idea of Jones’ toughness and resilience, check out this photo of him casually hanging in there after losing his pants:

NFL fans said the same thing after the photo went viral:

“Leaving it all out there,” a user said.

“Mac Jones is fighting for his life,” wrote another.

“Dude got eaten alive! Still won. Let’s go,” a fan commented.

“Mac jones went to war,” wrote another.

“Bro went through it but he led ’em to a win,” one fan said.

“Haha, Mac Jones looks like he’s barely hanging on out there! Tough game for him, but the 49ers pulled through,” a user added.

After a disappointing end to his career in New England, Jones spent a year with the Jacksonville Jaguars and played seven games in relief of an injured Trevor Lawrence.

And based on his play so far, Jones really wants to win Comeback Player of the Year honors and land another contract elsewhere.
