The postseason began with high intensity as the Rockets clashed with the Golden State Warriors. Tensions flared immediately in Game 1 when Sengun and Draymond Green found themselves face-to-face in a heated exchange.

“They’re a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot. In the playoffs, they don’t call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called,” Sengun said.
Despite Sengun’s consistent play, the Warriors ultimately had the final say. Stephen Curry and his squad eliminated Houston in a seven-game series, winning 4-3. Sengun still stood out individually. He averaged 20.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.

The Rockets acquired Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. In a recent interview, Sengun admitted that the trade was bittersweet, as it meant parting ways with his close teammate Green. However, Sengun quickly acknowledged the massive upside of the deal.

“He was like my brother…I was sad when I got the news. I was very sad, but at the same time…KEVIN DURANT is coming,” Sengun said.

In the interview, Sengun also recalled a personal exchange he once had with Durant. Now, with Durant officially a Rocket, fans are eager to see what this new duo can achieve together.
