A recent flurry of online activity has centered around TCU quarterback Josh Hoover.

The former three-star recruit took over as the starting quarterback at TCU in 2023, but much of the talk surrounding him in 2025 concerns what he allegedly had on.

We’re just a couple of weeks away from college football season, and TCU fans received a scare as many began to question their team before the season even started.

It was all due to a post that started going around claiming to be from starting quarterback Josh Hoover about attending a furry convention.

For those unaware, people participate in a wide range of activities at these conventions, including wearing fursuits, attending dances and raves, and participating in or watching fursuit parades and competitions.

The post online purporting to be from Hoover’s IG showed a group of furries at a convention.

Pictures claimed that he was dressed up in a fursuit at a Fort Worth convention.

TCU fans can relax, because the post was not real and Josh Hoover is not a Flurry.

The TCU quarterback exploded for the Horned Frogs last season, passing for a program record 3,949 yards with 27 touchdowns (T-4th most in a season in program history). He led TCU to a 9-4 record and a 34-3 beatdown of Louisiana in the New Mexico Bowl.

Last year, he hit the 300 passing yard mark in six games, including an impressive 402-yard and four touchdown performance in a 35-34 loss to UCF.

Many programs wanted him.

In need of a quarterback, the Tennessee Volunteers reached out to grab him with a strong offer.

Tennessee offered him roughly $1 million more than he currently makes at TCU, but he quickly turned down the Vols to remain in Fort Worth.

He reportedly already has a seven-figure salary in Fort Worth.
