Saints and Jaguars fan fighting (Photos via Twitter)
The NFL season isn’t quite back until there is a fight, and the Saints and Jaguars fan base just provided that action.
New Orleans and Jacksonville tied a preseason football game in the Caesars Superdome, 17-17.
Spencer Rattler hit Dante Pettis for a 20-yard touchdown and ran in a 2-point conversion with 2:18 to play to deliver the Saints a tie.
Rattler completed 18 of 24 passes for 199 yards in a backup role.
The action inside the Caesars Superdome wasn’t limited to the field.
Inside the stadium, an argument between two fans resulted in violence. One Jaguars fan in a Travis Hunter jersey got the better of a much bigger Saints fan. After several missed punches, the Jacksonville fan tried and failed to lift the much-bigger man off his feet.
Eventually, the two men began to grapple, and the carpet would help out the Jags fan as he threw several punches to the man, who struggled to get up. Eventually, he had his entire shirt pulled up over his head.
The Travis Hunter fan walked away, but the Saints fan wanted more action. As he walked for more violence, he would lose his pants. One last potential strike led to him and the Jaguars fan falling to the ground.
Rookie Tyler Shough started as the quarterback for the Saints. He completed 9 of 12 passes for 66 yards. His four drives led to one field goal.
The Jacksonville Jaguars played this game without standout wideout and defensive back Travis Hunter, who was injured and had previously missed practice.
Nick Mullens had an up-and-down day as he completed 14 of 17 passes for 112 yards and one interception.

The New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars have very different expectations for 2025.
New Orleans has a QB room that is not set up to make any noise in 2025. Their hope relies on a high draft pick in 2026.
The Jags have Trevor Lawrence in place and a new standout WR and CB, Travis Hunter, to look forward to. Their fortunes can change in 2025.
