Stephen A. Smith can talk the talk, but he’s not one for confrontation.
That much was clear when LeBron James pulled up on him during a Lakers game last season, but he also chose to bow out after Serena Williams’ husband checked him during ‘First Take’ this Thursday.
Alexis Ohanian joined the show several months after Smith criticized his wife and suggested he should get rid of her for dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“You could say give her props. If I’m your husband, why are you up there trolling your ex?” he asked on ‘First Take’ after the Super Bowl.
“If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his a**, ’cause clearly you don’t belong with me.
“What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye.”

With Ohanian a guest on Thursday’s episode, the billionaire called Stephen A. out, letting him know he’s in no position to offer marriage advice as he’s never been married himself.
“You hadn’t been married before, right? Cause I give advice to plenty of founders who want to build billion-dollar companies. And the reason I do that is because I build billion-dollar companies,” he said. “So I generally try to stay in my lane in the advice department.”
Smith quickly decided that this wasn’t an argument he wanted to wade into.
Ohanian is one of the co-founders of the popular social media platform Reddit. He married Serena in 2017, and they have two children together.
The former tennis star was previously in a relationship with Drake, and her involvement in Kendrick’s performance in February was taken as a direct shot at the Canadian rapper.
Ohanian addressed the appearance shortly after it happened, but he still had something to get off his chest, much to Smith’s chagrin.
