Dave Portnoy has offered his two cents on the situation involving Jimmy Kimmel and ABC.
The late-night host has been taken off television indefinitely following his public take on Charlie Kirk’s death.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said as part of his monologue on Monday night.
On Wednesday, he was hit with the news of his show getting taken off the air.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely,” a network spokesperson revealed.
Many have called ABC’s decision an attack on free speech while others have made claims of Kimmel being a victim of cancel culture. Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was among those who slammed him, however, unleashing a seven-word reaction to Kimmel’s show getting pulled.

Portnoy, who only this week fired a member of his Barstool staff for sending a message to Kirk’s family, has said that the 57-year-old is simply reaping what he sowed.
“With Kimmel getting canned I’m seeing lots of people talking about the hypocrisy of cancel culture,’ the outspoken media mogul posted in a rant on X. ‘To me Cancel culture is when people go out of their way to dig up old tweets, videos etc looking for dirt on somebody they don’t like in an effort to get them fired,” he wrote.
“Like if Kimmel got canceled for s*** he did on the Man Show that would be cancel culture. But when a person says something that a ton of people find offensive, rude, dumb in real time and then that person is punished for it that’s not cancel culture. That is consequences for your actions,” Portnoy added.
ABC’s affiliate group, Nexstar, also criticized Kimmel’s statement on the assassination, claiming that there was a firm objection and that his show would be replaced by other programming.
According to reports, Kimmel was preparing to address the comments on his show on Wednesday night before learning that he had been cut, which left him fuming.
