Rafael Devers’ trade to the San Francisco Giants came as a huge shock. The Boston Red Sox parted ways with one of their long-standing players, and many fans were surprised. Devers has had several issues with the team since Alex Bregman took over his position.
The Red Sox wanted Devers to play at first base, but things didn’t go well since he refused. Moreover, Devers’ performance was not up to the mark. The Red Sox had several issues with Devers, and they were forced to part ways with the slugger.
Boston received pitchers Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison, along with prospects James Tibbs III and Jose Bello, for Devers. However, the franchise held the worst record in the league since Rafael Devers was traded to the Giants.
Things are not getting any better for the Giants, who dropped to fourth place in the NL West. They are now 59-64 and 11 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers on top.

Giants fans immediately took to social media to vent their frustration with the team’s current situation. Several fans blamed Devers for their miserable slump. Here are some reactions from X.
“He is a cancer! Red Sox are winning now! It’s Rafael Devers!” wrote one fan.
“Toxicity in a club house is a real thing,” another fan wrote.
“Now show the Red Sox record since…give us the full picture. Guy is struggling, but also seems like clubhouse poison after all the preseason drama with Bregman,” one fan chimed in.
“Man I was wrong about the trade. Turned out so well for the Sox! Lol,” another fan responded.
“Now do the Red Sox record since the trade,” one fan said.
“Giants were on a roll before the trade deadline,” another fan chipped in.
Rafael Devers has 23 home runs, but his batting average is stuck around .255. Despite trying his best and working hard, it’s clear that the slugger is struggling to make ends meet. Giants fans are unhappy with the team bringing in Devers. The slugger received huge backlash from both ends after all the drama. Hopefully, he will pick up the pace of his team.
