LeBron James’ love for basketball has been a defining part of his life for two decades. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has built a career that checks every box in a player’s dream resume.

But this offseason, the 40-year-old has been showing off a different kind of passion. While he remains committed to staying in peak shape for the NBA season, LeBron has found himself drawn to the golf course.

On Saturday, LeBron shared a candid moment with his fans through an Instagram story, where he confessed that golf has captured his full attention. Rain or shine, he’s been out swinging.

Addicted. I’m sorry. I know. Yep. That’s it. Rain and everything. Come on, Cot,” LeBron said.

Of course, LeBron’s golfing enthusiasm hasn’t gone unnoticed, especially because of his viral awkward golf swing. That clip caught the attention of Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who couldn’t resist a little playful ribbing.

You know what, I’m just happy my guy’s out there. It’s been a long time coming. Part of it is you gotta get out there, fall in love with the game. We all probably looked like this when we first got out there. But hopefully, you keep practicing and he’s only going up from there,” Tatum said.

James is approaching the twilight of his career. While his legacy on the court remains untouchable, reports suggest the relationship between the Lakers and their veteran star may be entering a period of quiet strain. NBA insider Ethan Skolnick on SiriusXM NBA Radio offered a candid assessment of the situation.

This feels to me, the Lakers want to get out of the LeBron James business. They want to pivot. He doesn’t like to not be celebrated in that way. It just feels he recognizes, he is not their priority anymore and that has created some of this tension and friction. That’s why we’ve seen what Rich Paul has come out and said and hinting things in this regard,” Skolnick said.

Whether this subtle tension transforms into a definitive split or simply becomes a footnote in LeBron’s career remains to be seen.
