This offseason brought a major change for Kevin Durant as he joined the Houston Rockets in a seven-team deal. It ended his two-and-a-half-year stint with the Phoenix Suns. But while his jersey has changed, Durant’s presence on social media has stayed the same.

Recently, a fan asked Durant on X why the midrange shot doesn’t receive the respect it deserves. The Rockets star didn’t hesitate to fire back.

Because analytics dissed it, and people read analytics to feel like they’re superior to others,” Durant wrote.

It wasn’t the only moment Durant made headlines online. A fan recently mocked his field goal attempts, and KD was quick with a sharp response. Such exchanges aren’t new for the Rockets star, who has never shied away from speaking his mind.

In fact, Durant even threw a jab at his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in reference to their 2025 championship run. When the same fan pushed him further, Durant ended up blocking him on X, which stirred backlash from many fans.

Jeff Teague Questions Kevin Durant’s Ability To Elevate Teammates

On the Club 520 podcast, former NBA guard Jeff Teague shared a critical take on Kevin Durant’s legacy. While acknowledging Durant’s immense talent, Teague pointed out what he believes is a flaw in the superstar’s career.

You know how I feel about Kevin Durant, I think he’s one of the best players ever, but I don’t think he has the ability to take a questionable team and elevate them dudes to a certain level,” Teague said.

Durant’s two championships came with the Golden State Warriors. Despite forming star duos and trios during his Nets and Suns career, his teams often fell short of expectations. Now with the Houston Rockets, it remains to be seen if KD can create a memorable legacy for his career.
