The Los Angeles Angels may have celebrated a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, but the game ended with a worrying moment for outfielder Gustavo Campero.

In the eighth inning, Campero chased a deep fly ball from Max Muncy toward the right-field wall. As he leapt, his left foot appeared to get caught in the wall padding, causing him to land awkwardly. He went down in visible pain and had to be carted off the field after medical staff placed his leg in a splint.

Watch the incident here:

Manager Ray Montgomery said after the game that Campero would undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury. We’ll know more tomorrow,” Montgomery told reporters.

Talking about the game, the Angels registered their fifth straight win over the Dodgers this season after a comfortable 7-4 win. Zach Neto powered the offense with two home runs, while Jose Soriano pitched six scoreless innings. The Dodgers couldn’t recover after falling behind early, dropping another road series.

Campero’s time in the majors this year has been limited, hitting just .172 with three home runs and eight RBIs in 28 games. In Triple-A, however, he has been one of the Angels’ most consistent bats, posting a .322 average with 18 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in 26 games.

Before leaving the game, the right fielder drove in a run with a groundout in the fifth inning. It helped the Angels build their early lead.

While the Angels’ manager didn’t reveal the severity of the injury, Campero’s return for Game 2 is doubtful. Logan O’Hoppe and Christian Moore are the only options left on the Angels’ bench. Luis Rengifo is likely to move to right field, while Moore could take over at second base.
