Social media detectives noticed FBI Director Kash Patel wearing an interesting logo on his tie during Tuesday’s Senate hearing.

Kash Patel testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, where he was grilled with criticism and stern questioning over his handling of the investigation into the Charlie Kirk assassination.

One day after Kirk’s horrific murder, Patel announced on X/Twitter that the suspect was in custody. That suspect was released from custody, leading to immense backlash against Patel for the premature announcement. The alleged killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, turned himself in on Friday.

At Tuesday’s Senate hearing, social media detectives noticed that Kash Patel subtly showed off his support for Liverpool FC with his choice of tie:

“Kash Patel wearing a Liverpool tie is more than enough reason for me to not trust him,” one X user observed.

“Kash Patel wearing a Liverpool FC tie to his senate hearing….very professional,” said another.

“A lonely looking Kash Patel desperately reaching for a last minute winner 😂,” a Liverpool fan joked.

“FBI Director Kash Patel, testifying in The Senate, dressed as the Liverpool manager 😂😂,” a user quipped.

“kash patel is the worst thing to happen to liverpool,” joked another.

“They signed Kash Patel too? Liverpool’s Summer ’25 spending has been completely out of control,” teased a user.

President Donald Trump’s decision to nominate Patel for the FBI Director position last year generated widespread controversy.

Patel has voiced support for conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccines and the 2020 election being “stolen” from Trump and has faced accusations for firing FBI agents simply because of their involvement in the investigations into the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attacks.

Kash Patel’s Testimony On Tuesday Turned Tense With Democratic Senators

Patel’s testimony before the Senate featured plenty of bizarre soundbites and outrageous statements. But for those who tuned in, nothing could have been more entertaining than his spars with Democratic Senators Cory Booker (New Jersey) and Adam Schiff (California).

When questioned by Sen. Schiff, Kash Patel denied the notion that he fired FBI agents “for political retribution.”

Agitated by further questions about Patel’s handling of the Epstein Files, the FBI Director lashed out at Schiff and called him “a disgrace,” an “utter coward” and a “political buffoon, as transcribed by The Hill.

Sen. Booker also took the opportunity to grill Patel, stating that Patel’s decisions “benefit” criminals, corrupt people and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Booker attacked Patel for his premature X post about having the suspect of Charlie Kirk’s murder in custody and said he has “assaulted the institutional integrity of the FBI.”
