The Hurricanes should be really happy with FSU right now.

The Miami Hurricanes are set for some significant bank following their Fiesta Bowl win.

The Canes will play for a national championship on January 19. They have already secured $20 million for simply making it.

What could be a College Football Playoff National Championship Game for the history books is now decided. Miami will face Indiana on the back of the latter’s dismantling of Oregon on Friday night.

The blowout came with cheating claims on Curt Cignetti’s part, but that’s neither here nor there.

The U will benefit from a recent change to the ACC’s payout structure, and they have Florida State to thank for it.

FSU sued the conference and threatened to leave heading into the 2023 season. The Seminoles boast one of the biggest brands in college sports and felt like what they were being paid did not match that.

While they were unable to get out of their deal, they did prompt a significant change. The ACC altered its payout structure to appease the school, per CBS.

As such, the conference no longer splits payouts amongst schools. If one of their teams makes it to the national championship game, they get everything.

The Canes secured $4 million by qualifying for the CFP. They made another $4 million by making it to the second round, plus $6 million for advancing to the semis.

Progress to the final comes with a $6 million incentive.

And that’s not all, there’s another $3 million for traveling expenses.

Of course, the Canes won’t have to travel very far as the final will be at their Hard Rock Stadium.
