Einbinder got on stage to collect her prize and deliver a speech, which she ended with a controversial, political statement, saying: “Go Birds, f**k ICE and free Palestine.”

The vulgar line was muted on the telecast, but it could be heard in the clip below, which is trending on Twitter/X.

Hannah Einbinder’s comment comes on the back of an open letter which has come to light and has been signed by 3,900 people in the entertainment industry – including Einbinder – which states that they will not work with Israeli institutions and film companies “implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people.”

CBS parent company Paramount was among the first studios to respond to the letter, noting that they “do not agree with recent efforts to boycott Israeli filmmakers.”

“Silencing individual creative artists based on their nationality does not promote better understanding or advance the cause of peace,” they added.
