SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey announced Wednesday the devastating deaths of his son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren following a tragic helicopter crash earlier that day.

Bailey, who has been a prominent figure in Illinois conservative politics, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement shared with local media, calling the tragedy an “unimaginable loss for our family.”
